User manual
Ágora is Neural Thinkers Lab's gamified learning platform for schools. It manages people's access to a school by invitation, tracks study time, credits experience points (XP) per activity, and shows who is learning the most on the Ranking screen.
This manual describes what the system does today. When a screen exists but doesn't yet deliver what its name promises, that is stated explicitly, and the last section gathers those points.
Who uses the system
Each person's profile defines the menu they see:
- Aluno (Student): studies through tracks, uses the Diário (Journal) timer, chats with the AI Mentor and follows their own score.
- Professor (Teacher): everything a student does, plus the Meus Alunos (My Students) screen, where they unlock access for whoever joined by invitation.
- Coordenador (Coordinator): reaches the Administração (Administration) area, with Teachers, Students and Invitations.
- Responsável (Guardian): exists as an invitation type and as a role in the system, but there's no dedicated screen for it. See the last section.
- Administrador (Administrator) and Desenvolvedor (Developer): Neural Thinkers Lab's own profiles, used to register schools.
Invitations only create the first four roles. Administrator and Developer aren't school roles.
Signing in
The address is agora.ntlabs.dev. On the sign-in screen you have three
paths:
- Another service's account: Google, GitHub, Facebook, LinkedIn, Microsoft or Banco do Brasil.
- Passwordless: you receive a code via WhatsApp or an access link via email.
- Email and password, including creating the account right there.
After signing in through an external service, the system shows "Autenticando..." (Authenticating) and takes you forward on its own. If the page gets stuck in that state, go back to the sign-in screen and try again.
Joining by invitation
No one signs up on their own inside a school. The link is always born from an invitation generated by the coordination.
- The coordination generates the invitation under Administração > Convites (Administration > Invitations) and copies the link.
- You open the link. The screen shows the school's name, city, the role under Você entrará como (You will join as), and how many Vagas restantes (Remaining slots) the invitation still has.
- If you aren't already signed in, sign in with Google or GitHub. On this screen, only those two show up. The invitation is held and accepted automatically when you come back.
- Click Aceitar Convite (Accept Invitation). The system confirms the welcome and takes you to Onboarding.
If "Convite Inválido" (Invalid Invitation) or "Este convite não está mais disponível" (This invitation is no longer available) shows up, the code was revoked, expired, or already ran out of slots. Ask the coordination for a new link.
Onboarding
The first-access wizard changes according to the invitation's role:
| Role | Steps |
|---|---|
| Student | Welcome, interests, mentor choice, terms, completion |
| Teacher | Welcome, student invitations, terms, completion |
| Coordinator | Welcome, school data, teacher invitations, completion |
At the welcome step you enter your full name. A student also enters their Série / Turma (Grade / Class).
The student picks at least one area of interest among Frontend, Backend, Artificial Intelligence and DevOps, and then picks the mentor's personality from the options shown. This second step is optional.
Teacher and student accept the Terms of Use and the LGPD notice before finishing. Consent is recorded.
On completion, you earn 100 welcome XP and land on the Dashboard. Whoever finished as coordinator lands on the Administration area.
Unlocking access
Whoever joins by invitation as a student, teacher or guardian stays Pendente (Pending) until someone unlocks them. Only a coordinator signs in already unlocked.
Meanwhile, the person sees the "Aguardando aprovação" (Awaiting approval) screen in place of the dashboard, with a Verificar novamente (Check again) button. Nothing else works for them until they're unlocked.
- A teacher unlocks a student under Meus Alunos. The notice at the top says how many students are awaiting approval; the row's button toggles between Approve and Deactivate.
- The coordination unlocks a student under Administração > Alunos (Administration > Students) the same way, and unlocks a teacher under Administração > Professores (Administration > Teachers), where the status is Active or Inactive.
The person doesn't get an automatic notice of the unlock. Arrange with them to click Verificar novamente.
Tracks (Trilhas)
Trilhas (Tracks) lists available content, filterable by subject and by difficulty (Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced). Opening a track shows the description, estimated duration, total XP and the ordered list of lessons.
- Matricular-se nesta Trilha (Enroll in this Track) registers the track on your profile.
- Each lesson has a Concluir (Complete) button, which credits its XP on the spot, with the message "+N XP ganhos!" (+N XP earned!). Closing the last lesson shows "Trilha Concluída!" (Track completed!).
- A lesson's XP is credited only once. Clicking Concluir again on the same lesson doesn't repeat the reward.
- The completed-lesson mark doesn't survive a page reload. Coming back, the list shows as if nothing had been done, even though the XP was already credited and counted.
Two important things about the content. First, a lesson today is a title, a short description and an XP value: there's no text, video or attached material, and Concluir is a mark you make on your own honor. Second, the existing tracks are Neural Thinkers Lab's own internal technical material (monorepo, development environment, deployment, AI, DevOps), not school content, and there's no way for a school to create or submit its own content.
Study journal (Diário)
Despite the name, the Diário (Journal) is a session timer, not a free-form notebook.
- Write the subject, which is optional, and click Iniciar (Start).
- Time runs on screen while the session is active.
- To close it, write the session's notes, also optional, give it a focus rating of 1 to 5 stars, and click to end it.
The session's XP is 1 point per minute, with a minimum of 5 points and a cap for sessions left open for a long time. The real duration stays fully recorded in the statistics, even past the cap.
The summary shows hours, sessions, XP and average focus over the last 7 days, and below sits the history grouped by date. Several labels on this screen show up without accents.
XP, level and streak
Every XP gain is logged in your Histórico de XP (XP History), on your Profile, with the source of each credit. Nothing is deleted from it.
Level. Leaving level 1 costs 100 XP. Each following level costs 15% more
than the previous one, i.e. level n costs 100 × 1.15^(n-1) points. The cap
is level 100. The progress bar shown on the Dashboard and on the Profile
doesn't match your real progress within the level; use the level number and
total XP instead.
Daily bonus. The Bônus Diário (Daily Bonus) button shows up on the Dashboard and on the Profile and can be collected once a day. It's worth 50 points plus a streak bonus of 10 points per streak day, capped at 100 bonus points. After collecting, the button shows the amount earned and switches to "Coletado" (Collected).
Streak. The streak goes up by one day when you collect the bonus on the day after your last collection. If a day passes without collecting, it resets to 1. Worth insisting on this point: the streak advances by collecting the bonus, not by studying. Whoever studies every day and doesn't click Bônus Diário loses the streak.
Ranking
Ranking lists people by total XP, with a podium for the top three and a table for the rest, showing level, badges and streak. Your row is marked with "(Você)" (You), and the Sua Posição (Your Position) card repeats your numbers.
This ranking is global: it compares every person from every school registered in Ágora, not just yours. Treat the position as a platform-wide number.
AI Mentor
Chat IA (AI Chat) opens the conversation with the AI Mentor. It greets you
by name and offers four shortcuts: Explicar matéria (Explain a subject), Tirar
dúvida (Ask a question), Resumir conteúdo (Summarize content) and Sugerir
trilha (Suggest a track). The reply streams in as it's written, and
Shift+Enter breaks a line without sending.
What you need to know before using it:
- The conversation lives only in the open tab. Reloading the page, clicking Nova conversa (New conversation), or coming back another day starts from zero, and there's no history to consult later.
- The mentor hasn't been fed your school's material, despite the text shown on screen. It answers from general, study-oriented knowledge.
- Chatting with the mentor doesn't generate XP.
So copy out anything important before closing the page.
Profile
Perfil (Profile) shows your avatar, email, role, total XP, level, streak, the daily bonus button, the Badges gallery and the Histórico de XP (XP History) with each credit and its source.
The badge gallery stays empty, with the message "Nenhum badge conquistado ainda" (No badge earned yet). The badge catalog exists in the system, but none of them are granted automatically by streak, accumulated XP, or completed track.
Invitations, for administrators
Under Administração > Convites the coordination creates and controls sign-in links. When generating an invitation, you choose:
- the Tipo de convite (Invitation type): Student, Teacher, Coordinator or Guardian;
- the Limite de usos (Usage limit), a number you set there;
- the Validade (Validity) in days, chosen from the screen's list.
Each invitation in the list shows the code, the role, how many uses it's had, the expiration date, a button to copy the link and the Revogar (Revoke) button. Invitations go out of circulation when revoked, when they expire, or when they run out of slots, and the list marks each one's state.
A teacher generates a student invitation during their own onboarding, and that's the only moment they can do it: the Invitations screen sits in the Administration area, which teachers don't open. After onboarding, ask the coordination for links.
Your data
Ágora serves schools and handles minors' data. You accept the Terms of Use and the LGPD notice (Law 13.709/2018) during onboarding, and that consent is recorded with a date. For those under 18, a guardian's consent is required.

What doesn't work yet
These screens exist in the menu, but don't deliver what their name suggests. Knowing this keeps you from concluding the problem is yours.
- Leituras (Readings) always shows up empty. The list of lessons it's meant to show never reaches the screen.
- Vídeos (Videos) doesn't play any video. It just repeats the tracks and leads back to the track page.
- Suas Trilhas (Your Tracks), on the Dashboard, stays at 0% even after you complete lessons. The XP is credited; the percentage doesn't follow.
- Badges are never granted automatically, so the counter stays at zero.
- A Responsável (Guardian) can accept an invitation, but there's no screen that links a guardian to a student, nor one that shows their children. Whoever joins with that role lands on the same student dashboard, with nothing specific.
- Turmas (Classes), in the Administration area, is switched off on the screen itself.
- The Exportar (Export) button, under Reports, does nothing when clicked.
- Some menu items lead to pages that don't exist, including Settings under the Administration area, About, and the Access System button on the home page. Use the side menu to navigate within the system.
- The product's spelling swings between "Ágora" and "Agora" depending on the screen, and some screens show labels without accents. It's the same platform.
